2011 Dakota Classic Tour dates set for July 10-15

MINOT, N.D. – Six consecutive nights of racing are on 2011 schedules for the Dakota Classic Tour for IMCA Modifieds and the accompanying IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Series.

With work completed on the new grandstand at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in Minot, both series open Sunday, July 10 at Nodak Speedway.

Estevan, Sask., Motor Speedway hosts Monday, July 11 shows before the tours complete their North Dakota runs Tuesday, July 12 at Williston Basin Speedway, Wednesday and Thursday, July 13-14 at Southwest Speedway in Dickinson and Friday, July 15 at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan.

Each Modified feature pays $1,200 to win and is a qualifier for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Two additional cars will start each main event, with the total purse paid out to the 26-car field upped to nearly $10,000.

Stock Cars run for $500 to win and a minimum of $100 to start if 30 or fewer cars are entered. Car counts of 31 or more put minimum start money at $125.

The Modified champion becomes eligible to qualify for the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions and the Stock Car champion will be eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in September.

RaceCEIVERS and transponders will be required each night and can be rented at the different tracks. While there is no tour registration fee, each track will charge $30 Modified and $25 Stock Car registrations.

Home region points will be awarded in both divisions. A list of contingency awards to be given in the two tours is to be announced.
