Matt Billings Named Race 101 Ambassador; Preparation Underway for Upcoming 2012 Racing Season
February 15, 2012 (Craig Revelle – Finish Line Web Design) — When Matt Billings graduated the Race 101 program just over a year ago for the class of 2010, the knowledge that he gained and the friendships that me made through the year long program were immeasurable. This past weekend, Billings met up with former students, and course instructors in Charlotte, North Carolina as he was named an Ambassador of the Race 101 program.
The Ambassador program was recently formed so past students of Race 101 can stay in contact with the instructors and other students even after they graduate. An Ambassador is someone that continues to display and practice the values that are taught throughout the course even after they have completed the curriculum. Billings was one of six students that were given the Ambassador title from the 2010 class.
“I really have to thank Adam, Anna-Marie and Tony for everything they have done for myself and the other Race 101 students. This program has helped me become a better racer ”, says Billings. “I am honoured to be recognized as an Ambassador of the program, and look forward to working with Race 101 in the future. Congrats to Luke Whitteker on being named the Premiere Driver for 2011, and good luck to the class of 2012”.
Back in the team’s Brockville, Ontario race shop, Matt Billings Motorsports continues to prepare for the 2012 racing season. The team plans to race at Brockville Speedway weekly, as well as follow the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series. The team is currently looking for additional marketing partners. “We are really excited about the upcoming season”, admits Billings. “We had a good year in 2011, but we have worked hard over the off-season and we hope that pays off once the season begins in a couple months”.
