Black Rock Speedway Reveals Aggressive and Exciting 2012 Season Schedule
Features 20 Race Nights among 27 Events across Nine Months
Rich Vleck, DUNDEE, NY (February 15, 2012)- It may be hard to believe, but by the end of next month, the gates at the Black Rock Speedway will swing open and a busy 2012 season will get underway.
Coinciding with the birth of Tanner Hoag at 7:59 A.M. this morning, Grandfather Dean Hoag has announced that the 8lb 11oz Tanner brought the schedule with him.
A number of very special programs decorate a schedule that spans nine different months. Action will kick off on March 31 with the first of five modified races at the 4/10-mile this season, plus the Kenny Moore “Flyin’ Milkman” Sportsman Special, the IMCA Modifieds and the inaugural trip for the CRSA 305 Sprints at BRS.
On April 20th, once again this year, Black Rock will utilize the Front Row Qualifying format before the first full racing program, but this time the modifieds will run an early-season feature. The first full racing card will take place on May 4 and include the Patriot Sprint Tour and United Racing Company squaring off for the first of three sprint car events this season. The PST will also be on hand on June 29, as well as on August 10, when the best of URC will also return.
The popular monster trucks make their return on the first weekend in June and will make appearances in July and August as well. The infield will also take center stage on July 6th when the $10,000 Fireworks display returns as part of the BRP CanAm Late Model stop.
The first midweek show at Black Rock since 2002 will occur on Wednesday, July 11 when the ROC Modified and Street Stock Tours roll in to the rock for what should be a very special night.
The second weekend in August also has the anticipation building with back-to-back nights the format for this year. On Friday’s “Celebrity Night”, the 360 sprints will once again be the showcase. On Saturday Night, the FASTRAK Late Models will head north for their first trip into the Finger Lakes.
Once fall rolls around, the two annual race weekends return with Dutch Hoag’s National Open Weekend on October 19 and 20 and The Big One Weekend on November 3rd featuring the ever-wild $10,000-to-win Enduro plus a $6,000-to-win Modified event to close out 2012.
The weekly action this season once again includes the sportsman, late models, IMCA Modifieds, street stocks, 4 cylinders and bandits; this year the FWD 4 cylinders have also been added. Visits from the 600 Micro Sprints, Midstate Vintage Series and Demo Derbies will also help to make this season special.
Additions to the schedule could still be added, most notably to the non-racing events that are always improving. For more information, visit www.BlackRockSpeedway.com.
