Ice Breaker opens new race season at Abilene Speedway
ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 20) – Abilene Speedway opens the new race season with its traditional Ice Breaker special, as four IMCA sanctioned divisions take to the track this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-26.
Feature events are on the program each night for the IMCA Modifieds, Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
Top prize for Modifieds each evening is $500. SportMods run for $400 to win, Stock Cars for $300 to win and Hobby Stocks for $250.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be given all three nights. Northern Region points will be also awarded in the Stock Car division.
Saturday and Sunday features also mark the first two nights for the second annual Texas Lone Star Series.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Friday, hot laps are at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, pits open at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 5 p.m. and racing is at 7 p.m.
Church services at the track are at 10 a.m. Sunday. Pit gates open at 11 a.m., hot laps are at 11:30 a.m. and racing gets underway at 1 p.m.
