Rear suspension rule clarified for IMCA Northern SportMods

VINTON, Iowa (Nov. 7) – A clarification has been announced for 2013 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod rules regarding the rear suspension.

The bottom of the rear spring must remain within three-fourth’s of an inch of the axle tube.

“We are putting a specific tolerance in this rule for next season,” observed IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root.

Claim engine rules for the division, he added, would be nearly identical to those for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks next season, notably:

•OEM or OEM appearing replacement steel crankshaft and rods are allowed.

*The GM 5.7 inch, 6 inch or GM Vortec rod part number 10108688 is allowed.

•No splayed main caps.

•World Products Ford part number 53030 stock replacement cylinder heads can be used.
