Millersburg, Ohio (By Mike Swanger) — It’s only a month until the green flag drops on the racing season at Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg as Saturday, March 30th will be the opening night with the Super Late Models, Tri State Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Trucks, and Mini Wedges on the racing card as the Modlites, in the first of seven shows for them, will join in on Saturday, April 6th. Before the season gets started, a practice day will take place on Saturday, March 23rd for any type of car or truck with the fast growing Autocross jumping into gear the next day, Sunday, March 24th. No racing will take place at the Holmes County Speedplant on April 13th but action picks up big time on the 20th of April as the Renegades of Dirt Modified Series rolls into town and the Super Late Models chase after the first of two $2,000 to win shows. All other class’ but the Trucks will be in competition that evening. The other $2,000 to win show for the Super Late Models will be on May 18th. Driver Autograph night will be on May 25th as Mid Season Championships take place on June 8th as the next week the Street Stocks will battle for a $1,000 to win feature and on June 29th the Trucks go bed to bed for $400 to win. Fan Appreciation night is set for Saturday July 20th and Kids Night is lined up for Saturday, August 3rd. The final points race, Season Championship night is August 17th.
The 4th Annual Week-end on the Hill is marked for Saturday and Sunday, September 28th and 29th. Last year was the 1st time the Super Late Models were added to the WotH and this year $4,000 winners share for the Super Late Models, The Mini Stocks share the headlines that week-end as $1,000 awaits their feature winner. Those two class’ will do their qualifying and heat races on Saturday and the last chance races and features on Sunday. Modifieds, Street Stocks and Trucks will run complete shows on Saturday while Mini Wedges, Modlites and Outlaw 4 Cylinders will have a full show on Sunday.
Also this year for the Super Late Models, Dzugan Fire and Rescue will post a $50 bonus to the nights fastest qualifier all season long.
More new clay also has been put down on the racing surface that should make the action even more exciting.
The fans were treated to more seats last season but this years improvement is working, flushing restrooms.
